As a (former) designer and someone who understands the world of advertising, I have always enjoyed the work of Shepard Fairey. In many ways, Fairey is one of the unsung heroes of guerilla advertising. His Obey Giant ”campaign” is the template for the urban guerilla advertising we see today; visually engaging and purposefully abstruse.
That said, I really love his new Barack Obama posters. I try to avoid overt politicking on this blog, bit I see these posters as being beautiful, meaningful extensions of the candidate’s campaign. They are on message. I wish all political advertising could be so elegant.

Thanks to Cool Hunting for the lead.
